Towering over you, the feeling you get when you are seeing the mountains up close is something unlike anything else. You realize how small you really are compared to this planet. But there is something always calling you back to see them.
Driving the Icefields Parkway is a must. There are so many beautiful areas along the drive. Its a great adventure and you will have lots of areas to stop along the way and see the mountains in a different way than when you are in Banff or Jasper.
The hike through Johnston Canyons is beautiful. I highly recommend it to anyone who goes to Banff. It's fun to get creative in a place so many people photograph.
Along the walk of Johnston Canyons, there are plenty of photogenic areas. Lots of small water falls leading up to the Upper Falls. With plenty of stops for photos along the way, you have plenty of opportunities to catch your breath along the hike .. he he
At the end of our hike at Johnston Canyons we were rewarded with a beautiful view of the upper falls. What happened after was the true surprise. As I was taking photos my friend engaged in a secret conversation with a complete stranger. This man was requesting her to use his phone and videotape his proposal! I turned around to all this unfolding. It was amazing to get to share in the strangers beautiful moment.
The pop of blue among the green trees is heavenly. There is such beauty in the water as it peacefully falls amongst the greenery.
I love how beautiful it is in Banff. No matter where you look there is always a photo to be captured. This photo is basically perfect with the mountains, water and trees!
You have to get the typical Lake Louise photo when you go to Lake Louise, but it's nice to walk around and see what else there is to offer. I adore these red canoes sitting on the lake and couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture them.
The picturesque views of Lake Louise are simply charming. The colors of the lake are stunning and I understand what all the buzz is about. You must see it for yourself. You will not regret it.
Sitting atop Sulfur Mountain you can see all of Banff. You can enjoy a little meal up here, walk over to the weather station, or just stare down at the town you were just at and realize just how small we really are in this world.
It only took one trip to the mountains for me to become hooked. One trip and now I make sure a year doesn't go by without seeing some mountains. It won't always be Banff or Jasper area but mountains nonetheless.
